PT Toba Pulp Lestari is committed to practicing the principle of Free Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) as the right of the community to receive information (Informed) before (prior) a program is implemented in their territory, and based on that information, the community freely without coercion (free) express their consent or refuse.

Dispute

The company’s standard operating procedures for conflict resolution, follow the principles of Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC). TPL prioritizes dialogues and consultative methods to achieve consensual agreements and prevent disputes in the future. Disputed areas are immediately identified, and no activities will be undertaken by the company in this area. TPL will also notify government authorities and any related stakeholders of the area’s disputed status before entering into communication with claimants and potential mediation.
